Theropod Versus Theropod

Description

A boobrie having caught and killed a meal, is rudely interrupted by a pair of titan ducks attempting to bully the tyrannosaur from its kill. As the ducks are much more heavily-built and outnumber the other theropod, the odds for the boobrie keeping its prey is low.

Animals Featured:

- Boobrie: Proceratosaurid tyrannosaur, the largest of the islands' various wading theropods growing up to five metres in length, but on average only weighs around two hundred kilograms; its long hook-like teeth are well equipped to grapple with fish prey and slice through their flesh.

- Titan Duck: Aniseriform bird, despite its name it is more closely allied with screamers than ducks, and like them has a largely terrestrial existence; however, they are carnivorous avians and apex predators of Morerea's inland swamp.

Antlered Needletooth: Boreopterid pterosaur, a piscivorous freshwater hunter, common within Morerea's interior swampland; it has evident sexual dimorphism, with males possessing a large L-shaped crest, while females have only a modest flap.

- River Scourge: Arguloid crustacean, carnivorous arthropods related to fish lice; primarily scavengers, they infest the more stagnant regions of the islands' streams and ponds, but the smell of meat is usually more than enough to prompt them from the water, often in large numbers.

- Spike Turtle: Sinemydid turtle, a member of an archaic lineage of testudines that otherwise died out during the Paleocene, they are easily distinguished by their anti-predation spines on their shell, but otherwise do not differ significantly in most respects to other terrapins.

- Long-Necked Lungfish (body): Lepidosireniform lobe-finned fish, a very unusual species of large freshwater fish as it possesses a prominent neck (as its named may indicate), which it uses as a hunting aid to strike at small fish from a distance.

- Glog: Cryptobranchoid salamander, a species of amphibian unique in exhibiting bioluminescence which is visible as two bands down the length of the body and produced by symbiotic dinoflagellate protists underneath the skin; this is both a display feature and assists in prey capture.

- Darter Shag: Suliform bird, a clade of small fisher birds similar to kingfishers endemic to the archipelago, they are divers adept at plucking small fish from the water or insects from the air; the species pictured is the dwarf gannarant (Ichthyocorvax mollis).

Maw Bird: Enantiornithine bird, predatory animals with large broad heads filled with teeth rather than having a beak as is characteristic of axehead birds; they are easily distinguished by their colourful pudgy frame, which makes them poor fliers.

- Blue Phoenix Gecko: Sphaerodactyloid gecko, a species of colourful lizard that is a part of a native group that has developed true powered flight and is now able to flit thoughout the jungle canopy on fleshy wings.

may I ask what speculative scenario this is?
